editorial shoot with Israel

I'm in the process of preparing my portfolio with the goal of submitting to industry (magazines, agents, etc..) and have been looking at my current work for anything suitable to create a lookbook.   The more I check out my past stuff, the more I realize that I need to update and freshen my images.   One thing that I'm sorely lacking is good editorial stuff, like the stuff that Robert Ascroft does or something you'd see in a GQ spread.

I've been scouring the net and looking at magazines for inspiration on how to achieve that editorial look that seems to be so popular and I'm discovering that I don't use natural light enough.   I think, in a sense, I've become slave to the flash.   So, I have set out to create a new body of work in the coming months to highlight my use of natural light as a primary light source.

The shoot with Israel is the first of (hopefully) many of these types of shoot.   I'll post some of my favorites from the shoot.   I feel like I'm on the right track but I've got a ton of work ahead of me to build a sufficient body of work so I can "break out" into the commercial photography world.    It's daunting but I'm really motivated!
